Be an Example of a Believer
1 Timothy 4:12
Whenever Timothy is discussed, his age is emphasized. He was young. Paul knew that his younger age would be used against him by opponents of the Gospel. Of course, Timothy could not change his age. One of the greatest strengths Timothy had was his character. A godly life makes a compelling case for the power of the Gospel.
In this section, Paul encourages Timothy to be an example of a believer. Timothy believed in the Creator. He believed in Jesus. He believed in the Scriptures. He believed in the hope of eternal life. Therefore, his life needed to reflect his beliefs.
